Like "freeze!" We makin' the crowd move but we not makin' no G's
from Outkast – Elevators (Me & You) Lyrics on Rap Genius
He is imitating himself performing in a small disco; he yells “freeze!” as part of a series of dance instructions he’s giving the club, e.g. “now pop that pussy ladies! pop that pussy ladies! now freeze!”
Sure they love André at the disco, but it simply doesn’t pay the big bucks.
Also a reference to late-80’s and early-90’s under-the-radar Atlanta rap act Success-n-Effect, one of the first political hip-hop groups. They had minor success with the single “The Freeze”, but never achieved financial success despite making a good buzz in the ATL.
