America was a bastard
The definition of bastard being: a person (in this case, a nation) born of unmarried parents; an illegitimate child.
Generally, the term bastard is used as an insult to both the person being called that and the mother who is looked down upon as sexually deviant because she does not know who fathered her child.
Historically, bastards were treated very poorly by society and were extremely looked down upon and were assumed to be trouble makers who had no future, were poor, and often involved in crime.
Here, the speech references America’s birth as illegitimate — seperated from “mother” Britain through revolution and unnatural means, not organically and naturally created as a country should be. Seems to assume that this led to the moral depravity of America.
America is the product of “Mother” Africa and the white man. Without either one, America and its success would not be possible. Just as it is impossible to have a child without a mother and a father, America would have been impossible without either of these elements, though the white man and those coming from Mother Africa were never “married” making America a “bastard”.
