That don't rhyme with shit, it's just true
From the start of the song, CG uses AABB rhyme pattern, but he breaks this patterns with the line “I’m a mess” which doesn’t rhyme with anything in the verse (it doesn’t even follow the lyrical beat). So he’s saying that the line doesn’t fit with the rest, he put it there only because it’s true. In turn, this part gets added emphasis.
