You such a fuckin' lame
It's what they used to yell back in seventh grade

from Childish Gambino – Hold You Down Lyrics on Rap Genius

Meaning

A common thread through Gambino’s music is not fitting in with the crowd through out his childhood, and the emotional abuse he (and a lot of kids) go through.

Back in 1973, sociolinguistic William Labov published an article on one aspect of what is now known as African American Vernacular English (AAVE). This article was titled, “The linguistic consequences of being a lame”. It describes differences in speech between Black youth who are strongly tied to urban culture and “isolated individuals within the community (‘lames’) who are less familiar with vernacular norms.”
