Throw my crown in the crowd, hope it lands on the heir
The weak niggas like to pass interfere
Weak rappers want the opportunity to become the heir to Lupe, but they have to steal the crown in order to have a chance. This line also alludes to Lupe’s near-constant threats of retirement — back in 2008, he was “85% sure” he’d be retiring soon
Pass Interfere — Pass Interference in Football. Weak rappers are trying to prevent the real heir from getting the crown…pass interference refers to a penalty in which a defender illegally prevents the receiver from catching the ball, ultimately “robbing” him of a chance to make a “catch”
This line ties into the idea of not caring about the throne line. He doesnt give a holy hell who has the crown. He’s saying he IS the king, but he’ll throw the crown in the crowd and simply hope it lands on an heir. Its the weak rappers rushin to snatch it up.
