"Scarface" the movie did more than Scarface the rapper to me
Still that ain't to blame for all the shit that's happened to me

from Jay Z (Ft. Beanie Sigel) – Ignorant Shit Lyrics on Rap Genius

Meaning

A simple 3-step proof that his rap lyrics don’t set a bad example for the youth:

  1. The movie Scarface, with its glorification of violence and selling drugs, had more of an impact on Jay-Z than did the old-school rapper and friend Scarface, who rapped a lot about selling drugs
  2. The movie Scarface does not explain the problems Jay-Z had in his life
  3. If the movie did more to influence Jay-Z than did rap lyrics, and the movie didn’t play a formative role in Jay-Z’s development, rap lyrics must not be capable of playing such a role either

Jay-Z explains this line in Decoded saying:

“We give violent movies a pass but come down hard on a rapper like Scarface, who is ultimately a storyteller just like Brian de Palma. And neither of them is responsible for the poverty and violence that really do shape people’s lives — not to mention their individual choices.”
