Bleek could be one hit away his whole career
As long as I'm alive he's a millionaire
And even if I die he's in my will somewhere
So he could just kick back and chill somewhere
Oh yeah, he don't even have to write rhymes

from Kanye West (Ft. Jay Z) – Diamonds From Sierra Leone (Remix) Lyrics on Rap Genius

Meaning

A call back to “Blueprint (Momma Loves Me)” from Jay’s 2001 album The Blueprint, where Jay raps:

Bleek you’re still with me — nigga what did I say?
Your time is coming, you one hit away

These lyrics reveal the strong loyalty that Jay and fellow rapper/childhood friend Memphis Bleek have for each other. Bleek has never quite become successful as a rapper, but Jay still supports him and will never let him fall into poverty.

Bleek, however, didn’t appreciate these lines that much. He feels like it put a stamp on his career and that people look at him as if Jay’s just taking care of him. He’s out here working, too.
