Crispus Attucks was a dockworker of African and Native American descent, who was the first to die for his country during the Boston Massacre at the start of the American Revolution.
Marcus Garvey was the founder of the Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League, and had an international audience for a movement for Blacks to return to their African roots.
