Christmas in Harlem Lyrics

[Verse 3: Teyana Taylor & Musiq Soulchild]
All the flashin' lights up on a tree
The house lit up nice
With your family is where you wanna be
Here on Christmas night
When you wake up and you see the gifts
Don’t that make you feel good?
So since we all snowed in in Harlem
Let’s have Christmas in the hood

[Verse 4: Teyana Taylor]
All of the flashin' lights
Yeah, them things shine so bright
Always for you and me
Baby, you’re Christmas Eve
If you like what you see
Won’t you come sit on my knee?
And tell me everything that you want
‘Cause, baby, I’m your Santa Claus, yeah

[Chorus: Teyana Taylor]
Christmas in Harlem
Right after autumn falls
Soakin’ it all in
Then we go hit the mall
Even though we ain’t ballin’
Feel like we bought it all

The mistletoe’s right here
Come give a kiss to Santa Claus

Genius Annotation

Released on December 17, 2010 on iTunes, Christmas in Harlem is a carol-themed single released by Kanye West during the rollout of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy . The original song, featuring Musiq Soulchild, Pusha T, CyHi, Teyana Taylor, Cam’ron, Big Sean, Jim Jones and Vado, was released as the last track on Kanye West’s free music giveaway series G.O.O.D Fridays. However, a shortened version of Christmas in Harlem (the one your looking at right now) was released as a single featuring Teyana Taylor and CyHi. The cover of both the single and the G.O.O.D Fridays track both have red text saying the artists names and Christmas in Harlem in bold, capitalized text with the 1609 painting Nativity with St. Francis and St. Lawrence in the background.

The song reportedly did well on charts, as the song peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles during the chart week of January 8, 2011.
