Still playing on the space metaphor from previous lines, he believes only in the motherly warmth and protectiveness of the nighttime moon watching over him. She tells him that he has to pretend to be human even though he is not of this planet, because while intended for himself, his music will help guide other people through their own problems. He’s simply playing the hand she dealt him: given the gift of being able to translate emotions and feelings into melodies and lyrics.
Remember, CuDi is the man on the moon. People may not understand him. He’s afraid of being rejected and not being able to help people. But finally, he helped us out, some people are not so different of him and thanks to him we all know this now.
