Prodigy was one of the two members of Mobb Deep. Prodigy had insulted Jay, supposedly by saying that New York rap had gotten soft. Jay-Z found a picture of Prodigy dressed up in a ballet outfit as a kid and put the picture on the big screen at the concert. Between this and his subsequent shots at Prodigy in “Takeover”, Jay-Z shattered Prodigy’s career (even Prodigy admits that his career will never be the same)

But what does this bit of mean-spiritedness have to do with putting on, Jay? Frankly, I find the digression somewhat off-putting…
