Took a shower kinda sour cause my favorite group ain't comin with it
But I'm witchya cause you probably goin' through it anyway
Very clever line here actually. André brings up an anecdote about a time when he bought an album from a group he liked and expected it to be awesome, but was severely let down. He then turns to his listeners and lets them know he is aware that they are probably in the middle of wondering if this album is going to let them down after hearing all of the rumors about the end of OutKast. But he makes it clear that he doesn’t blame the audience for being hesitant, because he knows how bad it sucks to be disappointed like that.
One theory as to who the “favorite group” is here is A Tribe Called Quest. They came out with Beats, Rhymes and Life shortly before OutKast first started recording this album, and it wasn’t as well received as their other works. No evidence to back this up, but it is a possibility.
