I have no dead bodies to claim, never been a trigger man
Crack, never pedalled that, opposite of Jigga man
Pharoahe was never a thug, a criminal, never pushing drugs — more the opposite of fellow NY rapper, Jay-Z
Jay-Z has been outspoken about his time in the drug trade, to the point where he has been criticized for glamorising an ugly period in New York’s history. Monch is likewise outspoken about admitting he was never involved in that — he’s not ashamed and he’s not trying to claim otherwise since he recognises (as in the following line) that his lack of involvement contributed to his being able to continue rapping.
