And the tie dyes
Tie-dye is a process of tying piece of fabric or cloth, often cotton, & dyeing, usually with bright colors. The material is folded into a pattern, and bound with string or rubber bands. Dye is then applied to selective parts of the fabric, with the ties preventing the entire material from being dyed. Applying different colors of dye to different sections of the wet fabric creates the design. When the fabric is rinsed, the dye is set.
The history of tie-dye goes back centuries, from cultures around the world. The trend peaked within the counterculture movements of the 1960s, but reared its ugly head for a period in the 1980s. For Johnny, tie-dye never lost its appeal. Or maybe he just doesn’t care about fashion… Poor bastard is homeless, y’know?
