This lines also relates to our culture in that people act a certain way in order to fit in but this ends up creating a false impression and changes who you are. That second line then shows that this change ends up pushing your genuine friends away. In this, there is a parallel in how facades created by the words and actions will become more prominent then what a person or artist really is.
