Street's disciple,

from Main Source (Ft. Akinyele, Hussein Fatal & Nas) – Live at the Barbeque Lyrics on Rap Genius

Meaning

Nas is writing an almost Biblical account of the streets.

Nas is fond of the religious symbolism. In the Hype Williams directed music video for “Hate Me Now,” his 1999 duet with Diddy, he appears on a cross with a crown of thorns.

This is also notable as it is the first line Nas ever put on wax and is also the title of his 7th studio album, released in 2004.
