Sitting in my scraper
A scraper is Oakland slang for a GM built car — preferably a Buick, Oldsmobile, or Pontiac, that was made between the 80’s and the 90’s with large rims, sound system, TV’s, etc. What separates a scraper from a “donk” is the fact that a scraper name usually applies to ONLY Buick, Oldsmobile, and Pontiacs (The affordable luxury and sport divisions of GM), and also the fact that FOR THE MOST PART, these cars are large Front Wheel Drive cars built by these GM divisions. Back when this song came out, adding whistle or suction tips to make the car have a distinct high pitched sound was another “scraper” thing. Sideshows and “Poor Man’s Hydrualics” are a must in these cars.
Buick Park Avenue. A very popular car to convert to a scraper.
