We'll never know
His question remains hauntingly unanswered. Jay has been fairly closed-mouthed about his spirituality, except for one post-9/11 freestyle:
And no, I’m not a Christian, though I believe in God
But I don’t believe in the Devil, my beliefs are odd
If we the people was given free will from God
How could he give you free will without giving you e-vil?
This also circles back to the 2nd line of the verse, “And niggas is praying to God so long that they athiest”. The assumption is that with very few prayers answered, Jay’s question will likely see the same result, i.e. we’ll never know. Also, there’s no real way (outside of blind faith) of physically knowing the answer until death. Likewise, athiests do not believe in religion so based on their beliefs, they will literally “never know” the answer to that question.
Another tripple entendre from a rapper that uses them often.
