The daylight is a reference to Cindi Mayweather, who, with her rebellion, is shining light on the corrupt government of Metropolis, exposing their tactics and motives. However, Monáe worries again that Metropolis' citizens will have been too brainwashed to understand the information that Cindi is exposing.
