Dear Alex and Marilyn
from Beastie Boys (Ft. Biz Markie) – Can't, Won't And Don't Stop/Grasshopper Unit Lyrics on Rap Genius
During the recording of Paul’s Boutique, the Beastie Boys rented a big (one-bedroom) house in Hollywood Hills. They paid the owners, producer Alex Grasshoff and his wife, recording-studio-owner Marilyn, $11,000 a month. They were a rich, sort-of-old couple — a lot like Lovey and Thurston Howell. The front of the home was adorned with a gold “G” on the front of the house. Apparently, the Grasshoffs had been unfamiliar with the Beasties and the their reputation for partying.
