You need a man who ain't chokin' on a halo
A real boo who could treat you like a angel
grandma used to say “don’t let that halo choke you” when we were acting up. Had one of those awesome writing moments when I realized the half rhyme with “halo/angel” actually worked, even though on paper it looks like it shouldn’t. I’m a nerd so shit like that excites me. The words “who/boo/who/you” repeat that assonant “ooh” sound that glues the couplet together. s/o my high school english teacher.
