The intro and outro use excerpts from the 1976 movie Network. In it, a news anchor loses his job because of his show’s decreased ratings. After getting fired, he is given another show where he is allowed to rant about whatever he pleases. In one of his rants, he addresses the fact that many people are slaves to what is broadcasted to them via TV. .
