I was young but honest, I was feelin' Muhammad
When Nas was in his youth, he was more interested in Islam and Elijah Muhammad (and Malcolm X) than the works that MLK did. In perspective, Malcolm X and Dr. King did not see eye to eye, especially concerning how to fight discrimination. As such, Dr. King is famous for his pacifism whereas Malcolm X preferred to use violence if necessary. Nas was moved the “by all means necessary” mentality.
