When Cudi blossomed as a teenager throughout the middle school/high school years, he realized that it was easier to fit in to society by disguising his real self— a lonely kid whose magnified differences led to a low self-esteem. Part of this act including trying out for sports teams because that is one way normal guys try to get girls. Either referring to his attempts to get into the Cougar Club or the adult females such as teachers who had authority over him as a youth, they turned him down/told him wasn’t good enough.
