Start out bottom, then she break glass ceilings
Coming out years before Drake’s smash hit “Started from the Bottom”, Das Racist references the concept of a “glass ceiling”, a metaphorical and economic barrier for modern women. It claims that a woman can see the upper levels of the business world, but can’t get there herself due to discrimination in the workplace. Julia smashses through this barrier as a modern, independent woman.
