I'm a shōgun
The shōgun was the name of the military dictatorship that ran Japan from the Heian period (1100s) until the Meiji restoration in the 1860s. The shōgun had more power than even the Emperor himself — though officially the shōgun served at the Emperor’s pleasure (not actually the case). The shōgun managed their power through a system of daimyo (the equivalent of European lords).
The Wu-Tang Clan’s GZA released the album Liquid Swords in ‘95, and the album contained snippets of dialogue from the movie Shogun Assassin.
