I sit and think about all this shit I coulda copped my mother
My partner said that's just the game my nigga
Swear I heard my jeweler say, "Here go your chain my nigga"

from J. Cole – Chaining Day Lyrics on Rap Genius

Meaning

Instead of chains, Cole thinks about all the things he could’ve done and bought for his mom, and his friend says that that’s just what the game does to you while Cole’s buying a new chain and thinking of his mother and the regret that will come later.

This line also refers to the idea that blacks remain slaves, just now they are slaves to material objects, so his imagination came into play and imagined his jeweler (Who is probably still Jewish, say “here go your chain my nigga.” The white man is still happily enslaving the black man.
