When I kicked a flow it like pick-and-roll
Cause even if he gave me the rock, it's give-and-go
A hoop reference.
Surface level: Kanye feels he’s setting picks to help his teammates (or in this labelmates) score (succeed), but he feels like Jay is going for a give-and-go, meaning he’s only passing the ball (collaborating on songs) in the hope of getting it right back for personal gain
Second level: “Rock” is also “Roc” — Jay “gave” Kanye the Roc (i.e. made him its flagship artist) at the same time that he was abandoning the record label by bringing it under the corporate umbrella of Def Jam — it was a “give” to Kanye and a “go” (a departure) for Jay-Z.
