Joseph ‘Run’ Simmons and Darryl ’D.M.C.‘ McDaniels are the founding members of Run–D.M.C. The former’s also the younger brother of Russell Simmons, one of the founders of one of the greatest Hip Hop Labels, Def Jam, which Nas is a part of.

Jason Mizell a.k.a Jam Master Jay was the DJ of the rap group Run D.M.C. He passed away in October 30, 2002. Without going into detail, Run–D.M.C.’s contribution to Hip Hop has been monumental; they’re founding fathers.
