A clever opening gambit, that sets up B. Rabbit’s main line of attack. Obviously Papa Doc, the guy B. is battling, isn’t going to put his hands up on command during a rap battle. Predictably, he’s going to stand there looking hard. But B. Rabbit points out that he asked everyone from the 313 to throw their hands up, and takes the fact that Papa Doc stood still as a confession that he isn’t really from Detroit. This subtly sets up the end of the battle, when B. will accuse Papa Doc of being from the suburbs and going to private school.
