The door bursts open and Dude 1 stumbles in, collapses in a pile on the ground, and manages to kick shut the door behind him. He’s clutching his side with his left hand

DUDE 1
They’ve got AKs, man

DUDE 2 [to The Boy]

Tears started to fill his eyes. The Boy stared at the ground

DUDE 1

The boy closed his eyes. This isn’t how he wanted to go, but he didn’t have much choice

BANG

But he opened his eyes

Lying on the floor was Dude 1, a bullet hole inside of his chest, and Dude 2 slumped motionless on the stairs across the hall with The Boy’s phone in his hand. The Boy stood up, prised the phone from the dead man’s grip, and went to sit by the pool with his knees against his chest, arms wrapped around them, just staring

He looked at his phone

“329 new mentions”

And dropped it in the pool
***INT. FROG FROZEN YOGURT***

A man in a suit sits opposite The Boy

MAN
I thought you were done with that?

The man points at the new smartphone in The Boy’s hand

THE BOY
I am

He slides a USB stick across the table, “hackz” has been scribbled out with biro

MAN
Is this it?

The Boy nods. A smile briefly flickers across his face. Briefly

MAN
How many tracks?

THE BOY

He turns the USB over. The label reads “Roscoe’s Wetsuit.”
THE BOY
It’s time to grow up
