Amazing visuals of how a man stands behind his lady while she’s putting on make-up while pondering on why she puts it on in the first place. He’s trying to figure out what her ideal look is but he thinks that the way she looks without make-up is perfect.

“Her complexion in a direction I’ve outgrown”.. this chick is caking on the make-up and making her skin lighter, thus changing her skin tone. Kendrick likes milk chocolate… ;–)

I think he’s saying he’s outgrown thinking that caked on make-up is what makes a woman beautiful

He’s trying to “look through her eyes.” He thinks she’s the essence of beauty and wants to literally see what shes seeing so he can figure out what her ideal of beauty is.

Her complexion in a direction I’ve outgrown reads and sounds like less a reaction to her physical features but mentality. Her mental “complexion” is one of insecurity. She doesn’t believe herself to be beautiful without it. Thus she changes her skin’s “complexion.” K. Dot finds that he has outgrown the thinking that makeup is beautiful on a woman because you observe the older generation of women, they rarely wear makeup. Thus he is saying that he is bit more mature than his woman in the sense that beauty is a mindset, not a feature set.

Actually doing what you believe in yourself is better than just giving “two thumbs” to others doing what you believe in.

Lupe is defining himself as the enemy of everything ignorant or anything “cool” but foolish. If you think drugs and violence are cool then you should not listen to his music.

“But they can’t see me I took out their eyes/I’s, replaced them with some me’s so all they see is he’s.

He’s basically he takes away their vision and make them see through his eyes. By replacing I’s with me’s, all the viewer sees is himself through Lupe’s point of view. Impressive use of pronouns.

"From the L to the Underground Railroad" (Lupe Fiasco – Much More) | rejected

I could be reaching but the L possibly means that he is the basic structure of the train, what makes it run. The track. For example if you put two L’s on top of each other like this:
L
L
and then another 2 L’s and flip them horizontally and put them to the right of the first two L’s it would make a train track. Am I reaching?

“They accented like the UK” No matter how hard they try to walk, talk, and be like Lupe, they will always have that “UK accent” that gives them away.

"Matter 'fact, I steer it" (Lupe Fiasco – Stereo Sun) | rejected

Double entendre. Steer/Spear.

"When I make small steps toward making it global / My tigh..." (Joe Budden – Broken Wings) | accepted

This means that the more he becomes known the more “friends” tend to distance themselves from him while the true friends remain by him.
