Ronaldo to open his own museum in Madeira Lyrics

What do you do when you are 28 and on top of the world, well you take advantage of the situation and this is exactly what Ronaldo is doing. He is building himself a museum in Madeira's capital Funchal, which will showcase memorabilia including footballs, photographs and trophies.

Ronaldo has seen it all and played for different clubs around the world, breaking records winning awards and leaving defenders in humility.
One of the world's footballing greats, Ronaldo began his career with the small tourist island's local club FC Andorinha, where his father worked. He moved to Lisbon aged 12 and was picked up by Sporting Portugal, launching his international career when he signed with Manchester United at the age of just 18.With Manchester United, he won three Premier League titles, one FA Cup, two League Cups, one UEFA Champions League final and the FIFA Club World Cup.

As far as individual awards go he won the Ballon D'Or in 2008, but has since lost out three times to his arch-rival, the Argentinian Lionel Messi. At Manchester United he also won,

- PFA Young Player of the Year
- Barclays Player of the Year
- Premier League Golden Boot

Just to name a few

Despite topping a team of superstars, Ronaldo has seen less team success at Real Madrid, winning one La Liga and one Copa del Rey. But he won some individual awards for his contibutions for The Whites.

Ronaldo, who is 28, will use the museum as a place to store all the memorabilia and stuff he collects as he travels around the world. Better than letting it get dusty in the basement, one supposes.

The costs of building this museum are currently being entirely funded by Cristiano Ronaldo himself, who is perfectly aware on how this investment may end up helping boosting the tourism and commerce on his hometown Madeira (Funchal).

Asked by local media in Madeira about his chances of picking up the Ballon D'Or 2013, which he is tipped to win, he would only say that a space has been reserved in case of success.
