Rapper Native [FV Contest Entry 2012] Lyrics

[Verse 1: Critical Lenz]

Like I’m bringing exams to the oceans cautiously testing waters
Not heavy on the reading since I don’t have the time to rest at borders
Consistently running things like treadmills, my feet are so tired
Marathons like ING, racking up miles like frequent fliers

Many rappers either high or fly, all victims of airport regulations
In other words they remain grounded, like children who are misbehaving
Opposition who interrupt my strides, I’ll have them chasing pavements
Take a sip of this wine, have ya rolling in deep shit and bricked in the basement

Set you back a bit, day lights savingsPut you down like sites under maintenance
Yes indeed I get it you’re the excrement I can tell by the noticeable fragrance
Typical rappers believe that they are beasts or animals I find it ridiculous
I’m their physical master wearing cashmere, just a wolf being inconspicuous

Cyclical chapters, same story told, all proclaim to be prophets like Moses
Miserable bastards, I’m a god in comparison laying out commandments for opponents

Thought they’d notice, but their focus is bogus and only includes figures
They tune into to tunechi while my ears digest chicken and beer, food and liquor
Speedy metabolism, eating insults then breaking them down into proteins
Criticism is how I stay so lean so I can flex my biceps and obliques

So cease with cream of the crop mentality since you’re all just vegetation
Budden was wrong, these rappers are architects, facades are their creations
Dismantling foundations, it's clear demolition is my call of duty
Critical lenz handles jobs duly while competition is all unruly
So sue me, yours truly, not Kevin James but a king of queens
From a tribe called conquest, the rapper native drops his contest entry

About

Genius Annotation

Critical Lenz prepared this entry for Funk Volumes' contest: Don’t Funk Up The Beat (2012). Although he didn’t pierce the top 25, the entry was still raw in lyricism. Inspired mainly by the wack talent that gets widespread and mainstream approval, he picked up his pen, aimed, and fired.
