Genius Annotation

I think based on the context of when the album came out (2009) and the mention of the Nobel Prize, the lines “ Hurry up, trade in your gold for cash” (reference to the economy collapsing), and “Don’t blame me for post economical backlash” I think this song is about the economic crash. I think the song is from the perspective of the Firms that sold bad houses. They would play Russian Roulette with the names on the phone hoping to get anyone to buy a house. Also the lines “ Consequence in the purest form, I’ve seen it coming from miles away” are references to the fact that it was so obvious and looking back everyone said they could see it coming.
