Black Country Rock Lyrics

[Verse]
Pack a pack horse up and rest up here on
Black Country Rock
You never know, you might find it here
On Black Country Rock
Pack a pack horse up and rest up here on
Black Country Rock
You never know, you might find it here
On Black Country Rock

[Chorus]
Some say the view is crazy
But you may adopt another point of view
So if it's much too hazy
You can leave my friend and me with fond "À Dieu"

[Verse]
Pack a pack horse up and rest up here on
Black Country Rock
You never know, you might find it here
On Black Country Rock
Pack a pack horse up and rest up here on
Black Country Rock
Never know, you might find it here
On Black Country Rock
[Chorus]
Some say the view is crazy
But you may adopt another point of view
So if it's much too hazy
You can leave my friend and me with fond "À Dieu"

[Outro]
Some say the view is crazy
But you may adopt another point of view
So if it's much too hazy
You can leave my friend and me with fond "À Dieu"
Ah!

About

Genius Annotation

“Black Country Rock” is an upbeat blues-rock song inspired by the Black Country, an area in the West Midlands, England. It was composed initially as an instrumental with a vocal melody, while the lyrics were added in last-minute in the studio sessions. The song’s style is said to be inspired by the English rock group The Move, which formed just to the southeast of the Black Country in Birmingham.

Bowie, known to his friends for his impression of fellow singer Marc Bolan (of T-Rex), decided to start using this infamous skill when he ran out of ideas for improvised lyrics.
