This is the opening track to Deftones‘ sixth album Diamond Eyes. Diamond Eyes being the first album to be recorded without their former bassist, Chino probably wanted to make his old friend a tribute.

Although there is no clear proof that this song is about their former bassist Chi Cheng, there are several references to death and or coma. This is sung with hope that they will eventually see each other again.

At the time of the album’s release, Chi Cheng was in a state of coma after a car accident that occurred in 2008 and it was unsure whether or not he would make it through.
