Released a few months after Curry made a name for himself with his first hit “Threatz,” “Bitch Named Bitch” serves as the first and only collaboration between Denzel Curry and Yung Lean. Built around a repetitive sample, the low-fi tune finds the two young artists rapping about their carefree lifestyle: Denzel portrays his sexual endeavors while Lean elaborates on his marijuana use.

The context of the release of this collaboration refers to a time when both Curry and Lean were making waves with their respective collectives: Denzel (18 years old at the time) with SpaceGhostPurpp’s influential Florida collective Raider Klan and Yung Lean (17) with the Swedish collective Sadboys.

Originally released on SoundCloud in August 2013, the song was later taken down at Denzel’s request. Indeed, Curry revealed in an April 2016 interview with Geaux Network that he never wanted the collaboration with Yung Lean to happen and that his friend and producer of the song Freebase sent Lean the song without his permission.
