There are two different versions of “Latin Simone” that exist. The spanish version is performed by Cuban singer Ibrahim Ferrer, with the other performed in English by 2D (Damon Albarn.) Interestingly, the lyrics in Ibrahim Ferrer’s version reply directly to the lyrics in 2D’s version. 2D sings about how depressed he is, while here, Ibrahim Ferrer attempts to cheer 2D up. For example, 2D sings"I always feel it’s getting me down When nothing’s wrong What’s the matter with me?“ And Ibrahim Ferrer replies with, "If everything is going alright Whats up with you?”
