WOP Lyrics

[Intro]
Uh-oh, uh-oh (J. Dash)
Uh-oh, uh-oh

[Chorus]
I made a little bit of money (I made a little bit of money)
I paid my bills (I paid my bills)
I paid this cover (I paid this cover)
I ain't finna stand still (I ain't finna stand still), 'cause now I'm finna
Wop, wop, wop, wop
Wop, wop, wop, now let me see you
Wop, wa-wa-wa-wop, wop, wa-wa-wa-wop (Yeah)
Wop, wa-wa-wa-wop, wop, wa-wa-wa-wop (Ayy)

[Verse 1]
Wop if you love me, get lost if you don't
Look at the reaction when I hit 'em with the funk
Got Fleezy in the back, got Chello in the front
Listen to the record, boy, I got what you want
Get so fly 'cause the club on jump
Got hits like the 'woofers beatin' the back of the trunk
Ladies take it back, throw back the donk
Bend at the waist, lean to the front
Now bounce your body to the beat just a little bit
Pause, shuffle yo' feet just a little bit
Ain't nobody here wop better than me
Purple flag to the left, who better than me?
I got a all-star squad, who better than me?
Man, listen to the beat, who better than me?
I paid to get in, so I ain't finna chill
And my week been way too long to stand still
[Chorus]
I made a little bit of money (I made a little bit of money)
I paid my bills (I paid my bills)
I paid this cover (I paid this cover)
I ain't finna stand still (I ain't finna stand still), 'cause now I'm finna
Wop, wop, wop, wop
Wop, wop, wop, now let me see you
Wop, wa-wa-wa-wop, wop, wa-wa-wa-wop (Yeah)
Wop, wa-wa-wa-wop, wop, wa-wa-wa-wop (Ayy)

[Verse 2]
Dash
Why you have to do it like that?
Got these ladies checkin' they bags
Lookin' like they breakin' they back, breakin' they back
Takin' it back, back, back, wait
Now I'm checkin' shawty with the microbraids (Braids)
Hotter than a baby in a microwave

Look at how she woppin', man, she might get paid
She wop, wop, wop a little harder
Look at how she wop, she a party starter
I hope that security remembered to card her
'Cause I ain't finna wop, but with you I'll holler
Said I never drop dime, but I drop you a dollar
Told her give me your number and maybe I call her
She said that she knew me and she know I'm a baller
Man, I'm finna wop outta here, I'll see y'all tomorrow
[Chorus]
I made a little bit of money (I made a little bit of money)
I paid my bills (I paid my bills)
I paid this cover (I paid this cover)
I ain't finna stand still (I ain't finna stand still), 'cause now I'm finna
Wop, wop, wop, wop
Wop, wop, wop, now let me see you
Wop, wa-wa-wa-wop, wop, wa-wa-wa-wop (Yeah)
Wop, wa-wa-wa-wop, wop, wa-wa-wa-wop (Ayy)

[Bridge]
Now drop it to the floor, drop, drop it to the floor then
Wop, wop, wop, wop
Now lean, then
Wop, wop, wop, wop (Turn around then)
Wop, wop, wop, wop (Turn around then)
Wop, wop, wop, wop
Now wiggle-wiggle-wiggle-wiggle, wiggle-wiggle-wiggle
Wop, wop, wop, wop (Play dead like)
Then wop, wop, wop, wop (Strike a pose like)
Then wop, wop, wop, wop (Check that lady like)
"Dang she fine," then
Wop, wop, wop, wop (Beat it up like)
Beat-beat-beat-beat, beat-beat-beat, then
Wop, wop, wop, wop (Speed it up like)
Wop, wop, wop, wop (Make it rain like)
Wop, wop, wop, wop (Do your thang like)
Wop, wop, wop, wop (Make money like)
Wop, wop, wop, wop (Hit her body like)
Wop, wop, wop, wop (Do your thang like)
Wop, wop, wop, wop (Make it rain like)

About

Genius Annotation

“WOP” is J. Dash’s most iconic and most successful hit to date, taking years to earn both of those distinctions.

Originally made in 2006 and released in 2007 as part of his second indie project, Something Else: Music For The Color Blind, the song was conceived as a tune for Dash and his friends, Fleezy and Chello, to perform a dance of theirs to at parties. Not having a name at first, the dance and the song were eventually given the title “WOP,” standing for “without prejudice.”

The song’s popularity became so immense that Dash would take down the original to update and release this official version that most are familiar with in late 2010, which would also become the lead single for his debut album, Tabloid Truth.

What did J. Dash say about "WOP"?
Genius Answer

So a few friends, it was me, it was Fleezy, Chello, we used to do this dance, and we had no name for it but we would do it to other people’s music when we’d go to parties, right, and it was one of those things where we were just having a good time, having fun; when other people saw the come-on if we were feeling it we would do it and other people would be like “How do you do that dance? I want to learn it.” And so we were like “Man, we need to put a name to it” and I remember Fleezy said, “Hey, man, you need to just make a song for this dance” and I was like “All right, cool” so I got my mike and my little laptop at the time and made the beat for it and just called it the “WOP”– and the rest was history…
