I had a boyfriend at the time and there were things that I experienced. I’m grateful that I did because I learned early how it feels to hurt someone and how it feels to be hurt. Having that perspective was important to me and writing about that was equally as important. It was kind of therapy for me at that moment. I remember crying as I was writing it.
