It was no surprise that this came as a shock to the other party-goers when Walt said this, as most cancer patients would be incredibly thankful to hear that they’ve gone into remission. Walt’s expression of self-pity seems to stem from his desire to keep going with the drug manufacturing business he’s in. Had his prognosis been negative, he could have kept turning out pounds of crystal and provided for his family without any future worries, but the positive results now means that he’ll have to stop soon — something he doesn’t want to do.

This situation was foreshadowed in the previous episode. “4 Days Out,” when Walt see his reflection in a towel dispenser and starts punching it, signifying that he doesn’t like what he’s becoming. His want to die is referenced later in the series with the episode “Fly.”

This was also a time when Walt was feeling conflicted about his involvement in the meth trade. While he secretly enjoys making meth, he still sees himself as a good family man who’s just having to do certain things to provide for that family. Dying was an imperative part of Walt’s game plan in cooking meth. Discovering that he’s not going to die in the near future means that he started cooking for no reason and he’s become a criminal for nothing.

The longest track, and one involving the most samples, “Workinonit” poses as a nice introduction to one of Dilla’s most emotional and meaningful works, Donuts. Four out of the six samples in this song are used in beats later on in the album.

The main vocal and chord samples, along with the name of the song, stem from 10cc’s song, “The Worst Band in the World.”

Minor samples include Beastie Boys' “The New Style” and Mantronix’s “King of the Beats” throughout the song, Sweet Charles' “Yes It’s You” at 0:40, Joe Ski Love’s “Peewee’s Dance” at 1:46, Raymond Scott’s “Sprite: Melonball Bounce” at 1:53, and Malcolm McLaren’s “Buffalo Gals” at 2:25.

Whereas Drake knows he is not perfect, Weezy is self proclaimed “almost perfect.” I mean, there’s a reason he releases tracks with names like “Best Rapper Alive.”
