Two shoes make a pair! And the “good” complements the last line’s “bad”.

At this point, you can hear a woman’s voice (Anna Wise’s), take over the song.

(You could actually hear Anna’s voice since the very beginning of the song as she accompanied Kendrick in the first hook but now it is integrated more clearly.)

Seems like a reference to airplanes and Soul has several flight references in this verse. G-O-D Emcee… he’s declaring he’s the god emcee now.. the first to say that was Rakim.

Furthermore many radios only play B.o.B and don’t go further into other rap music.

B-O-B-G-O-D-M-C

If you listen it’s also G.O.D.M.C, D.M.C being the name of a very popular game and stands for Devil May Cry. Which would make sense with the next line. especially as the D overlaps both separate meanings sharing one word/body (devil with angel wings all in one entity)

This is a reference to Childish’s previous line, “‘Tussin and champagne”, Ab is saying he’ll mix his Promethazine and Codeine with Pinot Grigio based wine. Ab-Soul has been know for having Mixed Emotions.

KRIT’s Dad didn’t always have the money to afford to buy him everything he wanted, but he was rich in wisdom and often shared it with his son.

Ab- Soul’s looking to get his sip on.
Usually mixed with 2 oz, but Ab-Soul wants to double that. Hence the term, I got a fo(four).

"We came through the storm" (Lupe Fiasco – American Terrorist) | rejected

So the nooses on our necks in the next line must not refer to the blacks, either?

"I spray the gauge that's race and gay" (ScHoolboy Q – Californication) | rejected

That video is voice dubbed.

Teardops are also a symbol of someone close to you dying. Most of the time people do it for Gang affiliation, but sometimes not. In that context teardrops are very last decade and to move in silence, you’d rather not try to show your strength(killed someone) or emotion (someone close to you killed). These days those links could get a wig split, quick.

"Pardon me though, I'm searching for answers" (Kendrick Lamar – Is This Love) | accepted

Not 100% sure, but I believe he says “Pardon me though, I’m searching for answers”.

I don’t think Drake meant this in a literal sense, by any means, but most rappers talk about ending other rappers' career.

Goes to show people worry about petty shit, instead of educating. Vastly overrated and overestimated for a person like Aubrey.

"Detached from your roots, nigga, me too / I'm doing drugs..." (Joey BADA$$ – Enter the Void) | rejected

I believe he’s talking about how most African males don’t know anything about their roots, they just know these things society has placed in front of them to be per-occupied with.

Still dunno what he says at the very beginning.

"Instead of boy with a chopper / That hold the cul-de-sac ..." (Kendrick Lamar – M.A.A.d City) | rejected

“Instead of a boy with a chopper, that hold the Cul-de-sac hostage.”

Kendrick is saying maybe the kids in the Hood can aim for bigger dreams of being a lawyer or doctor and owning a hospital or law firm, instead of subjecting themselves to being the most respected gangsta on the streets or in their territory, because with the Cul-de-sac meaning, it essentially leads nowhere.

Sidenote: Cul-da sac literally means “butt of sack” in French.

Cul-de-sac-

"Coming down, still sipping" (Ab-Soul – Mixed Emotions) | pending

That could be a term for it, but Ab-Soul isn’t your typical “stunt in car kinda person” I don’t think.
If you’ve ever had a really potent codeine/promethazine trip
it’s kinda split into 2 parts. The beginning when you’re pretty social, very buzzed, and is pretty euphoric. The second part is when you’re “coming down” and the high becomes more of a psychological one with daydreams, and you’re getting tired, but you’re still very happy.

I would say that if it’s his first offence he wouln’t get life.
“L” — Loss
“W” — Win
