OTl 68: Excerpt 4 “Ramon from Beat Street” Lyrics

Grand Mixer DXT: I was actually casted for the lead of Beat Street. If you watch the movie you'll see his whole persona is me. I was the guy at The Roxy, I wore those mirror glasses, mountain climbing glasses, the shawl, the Arabic shawl and all that, they created the whole scene. They came to my room and took pictures of it to create his room, the whole thing. But again, I turned it down, because the character, Ramon, was fictional to the history. Sure, DJs had friends who were graffiti artists, but there was no while you're DJing I'm gonna be right beside you spray painting. Like, who can party like that?
