Jennings is referring to country legend Hank Williams. He’s questioning whether this approach to achieving success in country music is the same path that Hank took.

Beastie Boys are never wack so you’ll need a lucky break (ie the larger part of a bird’s snapped wishbone) to outdo them. Wishbone is also a type of car suspension. A break in the wishbone of their metaphorical Cadillac is the best you can hope for. Beastie Boys, themselves, would have to fail in order for other MCs to surpass them.

Dom Perignon is a variety of champagne produced by Moet & Chandon, named after a Benedictine monk who pioneered quality control in early champagne production. In taking the name, Michel Perignon, Mike D is associating himself with a prestige brand within a prestige brand, and a pioneer of quality control. As a talented, veteran MC, Mike D was/is both a pioneer of rap and a purveyor of a quality product.

"This is survival of the fittest" (Eminem – Survival) | accepted

The term Survival of the Fittest was coined by English polymath Herbert Spencer, who came up with the idea after reading Darwin’s work. Survival of the Fittest extends the idea of natural selection beyond the animal kingdom.

"And that you shine like you grew up in a shrine in Peru."" (Jay Electronica – Exhibit C) | rejected

Just listened to this line again and I agree the it could also refer to the Communist Party of Peru, aka The Shining Path.

I’m not entirely sure that Masta Ace is saying that the game is gay, but that it’s broken. According to The Free Dictionary traction is a medical treatment that involves the use of “a pulling force to treat muscle and skeleton disorders” Masta Ace’s rhymes are the traction that will fix rap’s broken back (i.e. the weak mainstream material we hear on the radio).

"Pass me the scalpel, I'll make an incision / I'll cut off..." (Beastie Boys – Make Some Noise) | accepted

Formaldehyde is used as an embalming agent to preserve organs. MCA will remove the offensive part of your brain and preserve it for posterity, so that you can always see what you used to be like

"And you got lifted, and sifted, I'm just riffin' / And wh..." (Beastie Boys – Make Some Noise) | accepted

Bird/flight references throughout this and the next verse. Other MCs lack the natural ability to fly have to use artificial means, whereas the Beastie Boys fly naturally like a bird of prey or a seagull. They catch other MCs like an ornithologist captures a bird they wish to study and clips their wings, thus removing their newfound ability to fly.

"I ain't got no gavel, I ain't tryna fight nobody battle /..." (Ab-Soul – Terrorist Threats) | accepted

The use of gavel also ties back in to the word chattel, as a gavel would be used to signify a sale at a slave auction.

"The tart tastes be bringing these hot styles through" (Jurassic 5 – What's Golden) | accepted

I think this actually reads “The tart taste is me bringing these hot styles through.” Tart means pungent/sour/bitter, and Chali 2na could be saying that other more commercially-focussed rappers might find J5’s style to be a pungent/sour/bitter taste. Tart can also mean sharp or bitter or cutting, which makes the first part of the line a double-entendre.

The Free Dictionary definition of tart

The second line in the hook should read “This is sanctified sick”, not “This is sanctified sex”.

"I ain't got no gavel, I ain't tryna fight nobody battle /..." (Ab-Soul – Terrorist Threats) | accepted

A gavel is a ceremonial mallet used by judges, auctioneers, and in other formal gatherings. An auctioneer’s gavel is used to signify a sale, which would tie in with Ab-Soul’s talk of “Selling water” and “Fluctuating prices”. They are also used by Congress, foreshadowing Ab-Soul’s mention of that institution towards the end of the second verse.
