1992–2003: Early life and career beginnings

Christopher Jackson, known by “Thane Koi”, was born on January 24th, 1992. He is biracial with Haitian and Moroccan. He was born in London, England, then moved to Los Angeles, California and moved & was raised in Carson, California. Thane Koi is an American entertainer/actor. Growing up, he has participated in a host of Acting workshops since age 10; Tim Curry was his first acting coach. He launched his first commercial for Disney as an African-American boy signing to his grandfather. Shortly after the shoot was completed, his mother (Niesha Jackson) refused to let him to do any more Television work because of his uncompleted academic work. He took a year hiatus of Television work and has returned to participate in entertainment gigs in 2007, making his comeback. He has done numerous music videos for performers such as Kelly Rowland, Rihanna, Beyonce, Chris Brown, Jennifer Lopez and much more. He doesn’t let his disability which is being deaf stop his ability of becoming Thane Koi today. He has debuted in commercials, and movies such as Sparkle with the late Whitney Houston, 30 Minutes or Less directed by Ruben Fleischer, and Project X directed by Nima Nourizadeh, but he is coming out with his own debut in Music. He has wrote major songs for Keyshia Cole, Sean Paul, and many more. He is now working on his album titled “Just Thane”.

2006-Present: Thane’s UpBringings After completing his commercial with Disney as an African-American child signing to his grandfather, He wanted to do more acting. But He had an hard time getting acting opportunities. So he moved forward to focus on his school work. Then was asked by Missy Elliott to dance in her video, “I’m really Hot”, and He found his calling which was music videos. Thane has danced in more than 15 music videos, he had the opportunity to meet Chris Brown, Kelly Rowland, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and more. Thane wanted to become the first deaf Pop icon which he is getting there now. He has done red carpet interviews with MTV, FGILA, and more. He has been working on his own material as music, Thane has debuted his singles such “Control The 808”, “Through With U”, “Love Gun” and “Paper Gangsta”. He is working on his debut album entitled “Just Thane” with celebrity appearances and plans on debut it by the end of 2012, or the beginning of 2013. Thane Koi is known of brewing beefs with rap legends such as Lil Kim. He has been on Twitter, and took jabs at her for wanting to work with Thane Koi as a private ghostwriter. Thane threw shots in interviews saying that he was asked to write music for him for a small price, and he declined her publicist’s offer.

Influences: Thane was always influenced by 80’s fashion icons such as Davie Bowie, Grace Jones, and Prince. He would imitate Prince and his style growing up, he idolized Prince and RuPaul, he channeled their style and embraced it as his own signature. He also made an appearance on Rupaul’s Drag U to cheer on his aunt getting a make-over.
