Genius Annotation

“Anobrain” is the opening track to The 1975’s Music for Cars EP, released March 4th, 2013. It is also available on the Deluxe Version of their self-titled debut album.

The word “anobrain” is not real. However, according to The 1975 “anobrain” means “an obvious choice”, or “a no brainer”. This really is an “anobrain” when you look at the word itself.

Additionally, “ano” is a Greek prefix meaning upward or against. This may not have particular meaning to what the song is about, but since it is combined with the word “brain,” its use would imply that Matty is talking about his questions having easy answers – a no brainer.
