(108) Lyrics

[2nd intro: JackSwagyP]
Yo it's your boy JackSwagyP
Uhh

[Verse 2: JackSwagyP]
Now this right here is not an abstract
I'm just trynna bring my real rap back

Sometimes I wanna keep it real so I act black
But the real me is concealed under a gas mask

Yeah I know I need to stay true to myself
Or else I'm afraid what it might do to my health

I'm just an Asian Kid
But I can still get on the mic and make these amazing hits

I'm getting too deep but I already warned the public
This is more like a paper that's born to publish
This has to be my longest summer ever cuz I've never
Gone 3 months without classes man it feels like it's been forever
But I enjoyed every moment of it

New to research but you know I love it
Getting paid to do science, man what a summer

Feeling like my life is in good shape like a runner
Everybody at the med school's like
Who is this new guy, killing all these fruit flies
Come in with his backpack, working like a lab rat
But looking so fresh ladies talk about his mad swag
Cuz I'm just so dedicated, my flow elevated

See me with the homies we're getting so hella faded
But actually skim milk is my drink of choice
I like to play around, you should bring the toys
Oops I mean bring the ladies

They can pass around my balls like they're the Showtime Lakers in the eighties
Cuz I got the magic, cut through all this traffic
System turned up they all thinking I'm a black kid
Cuz I'm bumpin' J. Cole,
in this heat I stay cold
They ask me to turn it down I just say no cuz
I'm just soaking it in, all the sunshine
And fun times man I hope it don't end

I'm just blessed, see I have quite the humility
We go out enjoy the air despite the humidity
Checking off on my summer bucket list
Realizing I went over budget shit
But no worries, cuz more money rolling in
Making ends meet but the stream of cash I wonder will it end

Got my first paycheck on my birthday yes
It was dope the only thing missing was birthday sex

But that's fine though, cuz I witnessed the NBA Finals
Even my mom watched LeBron fight for survival
Feel inspired, fired up, with desire to ball
We play till the lights out but not tired at all

Go to church worship Jesus, ride around bumping Yeezus
Man I gotta say this life is the sweetest

But I'm still trynna quench my thirst for knowledge
Brings me back to the time when I searched for college
Without a visit I applied early decision
My friends told me I was crazy but I didn't listen
Cuz God opened the door to Wash U
And I knew he wouldn't make me look like such fool

Looking back when I was just a freshman
Thinking I was so fresh then
But now I'm on a whole another level of freshness
Living more reckless, swag bigger than Texas

Went to two weddings so I put my bow tie on
Looking so nice even if there's no light on
This makes no sense you gotta see it to believe it
Or take me at my words cuz my flow's right on

As the summer comes to a close, it's time to compose
Give Rap Genius more lines to decode

Getting money, petting bunnies, eat whenever I'm getting hungry
I think that it's time you should know
My story continues cuz college is hardly over
I'm hardly sober, keep going till the party's over
Cuz I'm high off life, I'm always set in gear
Summer's over, I'm ready for the second year

YEAH!
[Hook: JackSwagyP]
Let it go, let it go, let it go
I need to let it go
Shawn the Sheep how was your summer?

[Verse 3: Shawn the Sheep]
Spent my days in the lab, round the clock like Jack Bauer
But not exactly cuz outta those forty hours I spent
Five hours rapping, ten hours napping
Twelve hours fantasy football mock drafting
I mean, I enjoy science like Yeah Mr. White!
But I focus like a broken camera, that isn’t right
Can’t hand it my life, probably means I’m just a kid
Props to all of you who truly do it for the love of it
And when my summer began, I was a president
Made a hundred plans and followed through on maybe ten of them
But then again, what would you expect, it’s just the wasted days
That fade away to shades of gray and back to my complacent ways

Like I should read some journals but I’d rather just be watching Scrubs
Plus it’s just some reruns so you know I’m getting nothing done

But when I freestyle, more lines than a paper shredder
Hanging out with Jack like courtside at the Staples Center
Cause it’s about my homies, love and shouts to all you
Love to all my people who were coming out to small group
To Millbrook, to uSTAR, to bball, to movies
To prank wars, my car trashed, to Kim Cheese, the Muny
So I’m ending with a triumphant phrase
Summer’s over, and it wasn’t quite 500 days
But it’s enough, for the next year, all that I needed
I’ll be better than the last time, you better believe it
