Automatic Lyrics

[Intro]
Automatic
Automatic
Yeah, yeah

[Verse 1: T-Boz]
I remember when I fell for you
It wasn't when I wanted to
But you were acting so into me (Automatic)
Went real good for a month or two
Just like every relationship
We got off on the trust tip
And can't get it, baby (Automatic)

[Pre-Chorus: Chilli]
I knew when you started to change
We could never be the same
I could do it when you do it to me (Automatic)
I knew if it came to be
We would get a chance to see
A side of each other that we both didn't know (Automatic)

[Chorus: T-Boz]
What do you do?
To make me feel so good for so long
Then take it back
And expect me to be alone
I can be cool
But if you're gonna do me wrong
I'll get you back
Baby, that's just, just automatic (Automatic)
[Verse 2: T-Boz]
I remember when I met
The man with all the confidence
Every day was promises to me (Automatic)
Then you stepped way out of line
Cheat on me too many times
I'm tryin' to put you down
On what comes around goes back around, yeah (Automatic)

[Pre-Chorus: Chilli]
I knew when you started to change
We could never be the same
I could do it when you do it to me (Automatic)
I knew if it came to be
We would get a chance to see
A side of each other that we both didn't know (Automatic)

[Chorus: T-Boz]
What do you do?
To make me feel so good for so long
Then take it back
And expect me to be alone
I can be cool
But if you're gonna do me wrong
I'll get you back
Baby, that's just, just automatic (Automatic)
What do you do?
To make it feel so good, baby
Then take it back (Automatic)
And I wanted to be your lady
I can be cool
But if you're gonna act crazy
I'll get you back
Baby, that's just, just automatic (Automatic)
[Interlude]
That's just automatic

[Refrain: T-Boz]
What do you do? (That's just, just automatic, that's just, just)
Then take it back (That's just, just automatic, that's just, just, oh)
I can be cool (That's just, just automatic, that's just, just)
I'll get you back (That's just, just automatic, that's just, just, baby, Automatic)
What do you do?
Then take it back (Automatic)
I can be cool (Automatic)
I'll get you back (Automatic)
Baby, that's just, just automatic

[Outro: Vic-E]
Automatic
Automatic
Automatic
Automatic
Auto
Automatic

What did TLC say about "Automatic"?
Genius Answer

We were so excited about that song because a new digital style was just created where you can play a certain sound in the right speaker and another one in the left. We were being innovative because we were among the firsts to do a digital album with all those effects. I love the way the song drifts in and out of the different speakers.

I like that song way better than “Lovesick” because it’s not sad. [Laughs.] When VH1 used it during the opening credits [for 2013’s CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story film], we just had to make sure they had access to whatever song they needed."
