War & Peace Vol. 2 (The Peace Disc)

Ice Cube

About “War & Peace Vol. 2 (The Peace Disc)”

Coming off the success of his film Next Friday, Ice Cube released his sixth solo album, War & Peace Volume 2 (The Peace Disc) on March 21, 2000—Cube’s final album with his longtime label, Priority Records. This album was the second piece of a two-album project—the first part, War & Peace Volume 1 (The War Disc) was released in 1998.

The album achieved gold status after peaking at #3 on the Billboard 200 and topping the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts with support from the singles “Until We Rich” with Krayzie Bone, “You Can Do It” with Mack 10, and “Hello,” Cube’s collaboration with his former N.W.A. group members Dr. Dre and MC Ren. It would be six years before Cube dropped his next album, Laugh Now, Cry Later.
